The quality management system certificate
was handed over at a brief function to the Chairman of the KCI,
S.Rangarajan, by B.Venugopal, lead auditor of the team that audited
and certified the organisation on behalf of the United Kingdom-based
accreditation services body. Direct Assurance Service (DAS)
Certification Limited.
The certificate, valid for these years from September 23, has been
given taking into account the KCI's scope of operations in the management
of dog registration, kennel clubs registrations, monitoring of dog
shows and dog trials and the publication of Indian Kennel Gazette.
Founded in 1896, the KCI is affiliated to the Kennel Club, London,
and associated with The Federation Cynologique International (FCI)
and the Asia Kennel Union (AKU).
Mr.Venugopal and Mr.C.V. Sudarsan, KCI Committee member, expressed the
hope that the global recognition would further motivate the KCI to do
good work for the cause of canines. Mr.N. Ram, Editor-in-Chief of
The Hindu, Mrs. Rukmani Sudarsan, KCI Seretary, Mr.S.Pradeep,
Mrs.Lekha Venugopal and Mrs.Shobha Gupta was among those present.
Mrs.Sudarsan said she and her colleagues would seek to enhance the
organisation's service capability by adopting the principles of ISO 9001-2000."
